Get-ExoInformationBarrierMigrationSideEffects
In this Quick PowerShell Post of the Week, we review a new Exchange Online / Security and Compliance Center cmdlet appears in Microsoft 365. However currently there is no information in help or Online about this cmdlet:
No Synopsis or Examples
Online help is non-existent:
Quick PowerShell Exploration
Even so, we can attempt to decipher this cmdlet a bit. To run this, we need our ‘Organization’ value, which can be pulled from the Get-OrganizationConfig cmdlet:
$Organization = (Get-OrganizationConfig).Id
We can feed this to the cmdlet using the -Organization parameter like so:
Get-ExoInformationBarrierMigrationSideEffects -Organization $Organization
The most interesting value is ‘NonIBUsers’ which refers to users that are not included in any Information Barrier configuration as well as the ‘Information’ property which, in our case, says the migrations will have no side effects. Hopefully Microsoft releases some guidance or help on this cmdlet, but a good guess is this has to do with their efforts in the Mergers and Acquisitions field / processes.
