Exchange 2010 SP3
- You can now install it on Windows 2012.
- You have to wait until CU1 for Exchange 2013 is release, which should be soon.
- This new service pack includes a Schema update.
- Build Number is Version 14.3 (Build 123.4) – this has not been updated here.
- Numerous issues are fixed and include those in RU6 for SP2.
Exchange 2013
- Exchange 2013 will now be updated with Cumulative Updates (CU) every 3 months.
- Support for a CU will be 3 months after one new update has been released. So if you have CU1 and CU2 comes out, you have 3 months more of support for CU1.
Installation Notes
The only change I noticed on the install is the note about installing a recommended hotfix for Exchange clustering:

I’ve also found a few Powershell commands in the new Service Pack as well:
- Get-AuthRedirect
- New-AuthRedirect
- Remove-AuthRedirect
- Set-AuthRedirect
However, none of these has any form of instructions in PowerShell Help either. All four show like this when you run get-help (command) -full:

Exchange 2007
Exchange 2007 also received an update for Service Pack 3 – RU10. This update will also allow for the same coexistence with Exchange 2013 as SP3 for Exchange 2010 – Exchange 2013 CU1 will be a prereq for this to work.

Usually products are pushed back as opposed to being released early. It’s great that it’s available now and we don’t have to wait until the middle of the year.
It really bothers me that they add PowerShell commands and have no indication anywhere as to what they are. I did notice them in various groups/roles I created. I’d like to know what they are granting…
